Soap and Rope is delighted to host a performance art incubator one evening a season at the beautiful Larcom Theater in Beverly, MA. The purpose of this incubator is to give artists an opportunity, space, and audience to perform works-in-progress. Want to practice a couple monologues before a big audition? Not sure if a scene is working in a show you are directing? Want to have actors read your writing aloud to hear it with fresh ears? You are welcome to submit your work! After the performance, all participating artists will stay to give and receive feedback. Any audience members are welcome to stay and contribute feedback as well.

 

Want to perform at an Incubator?

We accept submissions of any performance art piece (music, acting, puppetry, comedy, reading, etc.). They must be between 5-15 minutes in length and have minimal technical requirements. To submit, please email Soap & Rope the following:

• A detailed description or recorded sample of your piece.

• Any technical needs. (Remember, no major set pieces, cues, or excessive use of shaving cream)

• Which incubator night you would like to participate in.

• Confirm you understand that, if accepted to perform, you will show up early for a tech run and you will stay after to give and receive feedback
