About April Renzella

With a passion for music that began at three years old, April Renzella has been refining her craft for decades. Her first on stage performance was at five, sheepishly singing ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ to a room filled with family and friends.

Since that performance, she has gone on to share her stories in hundreds of venues, including the Comcast Center with Chicago as well as the Spire Center where she opened up for singer/songwriter, Griffin House.

Although classically trained with a soft spot for Italian aria, ‘Caro Mio Ben’, and Broadway classics such as ‘Losing My Mind’ and ‘On My Own’, Renzella settled into an independent sound as a songwriter with a country flare.

Inspired by artists and songwriters like Kacey Musgraves, Lori McKenna, Brandy Clark, and Lee Ann Womack, listeners find her lyrics to be raw, honest, and focused on real life situations. In 2016, she won the NACMAI award for Songwriter of The Year for her mid-tempo ‘No Knot Today’. In 2018, she won the same award for ‘Man Up’. Her song ‘E-Z’ received placement in a short film during her time in Nashville.

Renzella can be found playing local venues with close friend and guitarist, Eric Giribaldi. The two began playing together in 2016 and have worked together to build a reputation that is beloved and respected by fans and venues alike.

The duo frequently brings in other talented local musicians to build a bigger sound and add to the dynamic.

Renzella resides in a small town in Massachusetts with her two dogs, Scout and Armo. If she’s not out with Eric sharing her art, you can catch her creating in her music room or unplugging with her horses, Classico, Jasmine and Cannoli.
